Information about Moodle
This section covers information about what Moodle is, how it can be used and why you should consider using it.
An Interview with the Moodle Creator
The following link is to a podcast that includes an interview with the creator of Moodle where he discusses the creation of Moodle - This is a great example of the material available at the Internet Archive!!
An Interview with "Mr. and Mrs. Moodle"
This is an interview with two school employees about their experience with Moodle. The discussion ranges greatly from why schools/teachers should use Moodle to why schools should use open source software.
Documentation
This section includes the best resources I have found for using Moodle. If you learn of something that should be included send me an email.
Jason Cole's Book: Using Moodle - This is probably the best source of information on Moodle
Getting thrown into a new program (especially after being very happy and comfortable with the program it is replacing) always is tough and I know there are a lot of frustrated people out there. With that in mind, we are going to shift gears a bit and move away from creating content in Moodle for a week and look more at effective teaching techniques in an online environment. I am also going to try and greatly streamline what my expectations are for this week hoping it decreases some confusion.
AS REQUESTED: Here is an outline in a nice to print Word document that lays out all of the due dates and expectations for the week. Hopefully it will alleviate any confusion about what you are supposed to do this week.

The philosophy behind this week is finding ways to enhance the online instructional portion of our job and ways we can grab and hold student's attention. We will learn this week about strategies and technologies that grab learner's attention, are visually appealing, and motivate learners in an online environment. Whatever the preferred learning style of your learner, we will experiment with a variety of ways in which to 'hook the learner' so that their style is tapped, interest piqued, and transfer of learning back to the real world is enhanced.
NOTE: Some of the content in this week can get kind of "techie." If at any point you get confused because the content is getting to far into the tech realm send me a message and I will either help you work through the issue or modify the assignment requirements.
This is our wrap-up week where we mop up any remaining topics. I also want to get feedback from you about the class and the best ways to get more teachers in our county using Moodle.
