| | Algebra is a branch of mathematics that uses mathematical statements to describe relationships between things and situations. These descriptions are important to help people make decisions and predictions. When we use a mathematical statement to describe a relationship, we are creating a model. We often use letters in the model to represent the quantity that varies, since it is not a fixed amount. These letters and symbols are referred to as variables. The manipulation of these variables is what makes up most of the problems in an algebra course.
Below you will find the 12 units that make up Algebra. In each unit is the online textbook, your journal pages, your practice problems, and a practice test. For the practice tests, you will need the Examview player installed, download free.
